Founding of the authorised repair service for FRYDENBÖ steering gears by Hans Neumann in Hamburg
1979
Acquisition of the company by Walter Grätsch, former service technician, eponym and trusted friend of the founder
Wife Käthe Grätsch and son Volker Grätsch enter the company
Headquarter moves from Hamburg to Quickborn
1991
Transformation from partnership to corporation
Volker Grätsch becomes CEO
1994
Heike Grätsch, wife of CEO becomes single authorised signatory
25-year company anniversary
1996
End of cooperation with FRYDENBÖ
Start of cooperation with ULSTEIN for FRYDENBÖ and TENFJORD
1998
Grätsch becomes Maritime agency for OILON burner
2001
End of cooperation with ULSTEIN (Rolls-Royce)

Grätsch becomes distributor for SCAN steering gears

40-year company anniversary
Founder Hans Neumann passes away at the age of 92
2013
Expansion of warehouse capacity

Relocation to a new, bigger office- and warehouse space,
additional service for bow thruster and propeller systems

50-year company anniversary

The namesake, Walter Grätsch, died in December at the age of 90. From 1979 to 1991 he managed the ship service as a sole proprietor and later as managing director. He was closely associated with the company until his death.
